FLASH MOB!

All the information you need to take part in the flash mob dance on March 11, 2011.

When: Friday, March 11 – between 4:30 and 5 p.m.

Where: Tempe Marketplace, 2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway – 202 and McClintock.
The dance will take place in the middle of “The District” – the open space between California Pizza Kitchen, Cadillac Ranch, and Dave and Buster’s.

What is a flash mob dance? Basically, it’s breaking out into a choreographed dance in a public place. We’ll be dancing to “Let’s Go Crazy,” by Prince. We have the full cooperation of Tempe Marketplace and we’re even using their sound system.

Can I take part? YES! Please join us! You don’t have to be a great dancer. Come to the rehearsal, learn the easy steps, and have fun. This isn’t a professional performance, it’s just a big group of people having a great time!

When are the rehearsals? Our last rehearsal is on Friday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at Tempe Beach Park. (Just look for people dancing to Prince music.) DON’T MISS OUT! You can still take part even if you only attend Friday’s rehearsal. We’ll go to Tempe Marketplace straight from the park.

Um, why are you doing this? Our friend Judy Grimes Priebe died of cancer last October. March 11 is her birthday. We miss her every day, and we could have sat around and cried into our wine glasses on her birthday, but instead we decided to do something big and crazy to celebrate her life. You don’t have to have known Judy to participate. This is just going to be a fun, wonderful adventure. So come dance with us!
