Conversations with Moo, Part 1

December 21, 2010

Driving home from the mall:

Moo:  The trees are so pretty.  Mommy, how did God make the trees green?

Mama: (uhhhhh)  Well, he must have thought the color green was beautiful, so he just decided to make them green.  He can do anything.

Moo: Maybe when he was a little baby, green was his favorite color…. Mommy – was God ever a little baby?

Mama:  (uhhhhh) I don’t know if anyone really knows the answer to that question for sure.  What do you think?

Moo:  (thinks for a  minute)  Well, Mommy – if God was a little baby, how could he have made his own mommy and daddy?

Mama’s brain explodes

Am I talking to a 3-year-old or a 10-year-old?

Philosophically speaking, you are talking to the first female Jesuit Theologian . . . after the end of celibacy, of course.
