Beep Boop

March 18, 2009

We are frantically, rather belatedly, trying to plan Moo’s birthday party.  We’ve known the theme for quite some time – ROBOTS! – but are only now working on the invitations.  Here’s the pic the Amazing Herbie took and tweaked for the invitation:

So sure, I’m slightly concerned that there is no pink involved in my little girl’s birthday party (although I think I’m going to make her a pink robot cake), but Herbie and I realized that Moo is probably only going to get increasingly girly-girl as she gets older, and the window for celebrating her love for non-stereotypical things like robots and snakes could close anytime.

So bring on all things metallic, monot0ne-voiced and stiff-limbed!  We’re going to have a robot contest (all robots must be made out of recycled materials…Herbie is planning a 10-foot tall robot, I believe), and maybe even a robot dance contest, if we have time.

And that’s the biggest problem.  Miraculously, all of Moo’s beloved cousins are going to be in town at the same time, hooray!  But – they’re going to be in town the final weekend of my show.  (Which is partly why they’re going to be in town, oh dear, sweet, devoted relatives.)  So somehow, between the matinee and evening performances on the final weekend, I have to squeeze in my daughter’s second birthday party.

Really, where is Rosie the Robot when you need her?

We cannot wait . . . but I looked at the website for tickets and they only show a 2 p.m. matinee on the 5th. Have they added another show time? Or did Herbie mean the 4th when talking about “sharing” birthdays with Moo and Phil? If there is anything this Millie the Robot can help with, please let me know. I’m taking some time off around then!

  4. […] yes, she has a robot party to look forward to.  But I want to feed her cupcakes and sprinkle confetti over her head all day […]
