Happy Thanksgiving!

November 28, 2008

Dinner Menu:  Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, mandarin salad, broccoli casserole, pumpkin pie, ice cream, brownies…

Moo’s Dinner:  Yogurt, ice cream.

Sigh.

Moo’s Favorite Part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade:  Santa.  Oh, and Rick Astley.

How I Will Most Likely Remember Thanksgiving 2008:  The day Moo officially turned into a No Monster.

At 20 months, Moo seems to have entered the Terrible Two’s.  She says “no” to everything, and not just “no,” but, “NNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!” like we’ve just ripped off dear Hop’s head and started pulling out his stuffing.  (Note to Hop:  We would never do this to you.  You’re one of the family.)  We have no idea what to do about all these “no’s.”  I know she’s learning free will and independence, but jeeeeez it’s annoying.

Still, we did have a lovely Thanksgiving.  Some highlights:  cozing with Moo while watching the parade, cheese stuffing, scotch, watching Moo play with her doting Nana and Oma, playing “parade” with Moo’s toys, red wine, white wine, pumpkin pie (ohhhhh Goooood pumpkin pie), making my AWESOME mashed potatoes (that’s right!), watching the dads attempt an impossible Grand Canyon puzzle,  Moo’s nutty sugar high after an entire bowl of ice cream, resulting in lots of giggling and squeaking and running madly around the house fetching toys for all her loved ones.

Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving as well.  Herbie sure did!
